The best laid plans are subject to chaos and course corrections

I have so many ideas.  I have so many things I want to do.  No matter how hard I try or how diligently I plan, the world functions in a far less ordered way than expected, making my best laid plans into nothing more than a good idea.

I strive to blog daily, I take on a 30 day video challenge only to see gaps in between my videos, I opt to take care of client work before new business, and new business before content marketing.  I try things on different networks and, occasionally,  I just blow a few hours on Twitter.

But in the midst of not following through with the plan, I’ve met incredible people, I’ve discovered new opportunities, I’ve had remarkable new ideas.  What’s nice is that even though it doesn’t always go according to plan, it always works out when your plan is to eventually cause a big change in the world.  And after adapting to the new circumstance, there’s always an opportunity to get back on track.

Day 20 – Who the hell do you think you are?!

Seriously. Because that’s who you should be…your authentic self. Then you have nothing to apologize for. Build an audience by being yourself.

Day 19: How to deal with people that waste your time

It’s not much of a plan, but it’s how I handle it. Stand for the value of your time.

Day 18: On Learning

Make sure you’re setting aside time for learning.

Day 17: On Success

Here’s what success means to me, and I would love to know what success looks like for you. Describe your ideal future, the one that represents success to you, in the comments below.

Day 16: Do something for your future self

Do something today that in the future you’d look back and be thankful you did.

Day 15: Write it down

With so many distractions today, it’s important to write down your good ideas. Just a little advice from your friend Jeff Gibbard.

Day 14: Gratitude

Just want to give a big thank you to everyone involved in selecting, promoting, sharing and otherwise amplifying our post about Facebook. It has been a very successful post for us so far and we’re very thankful that it resonated with so many people.

Day 13: Content Strategy and Playing Small ball

Don’t always swing for the fences. Just focus on a consistent strategy of putting out good stuff. Eventually, you’ll knock it out of the park.

Day 12: The day Jeff admits to being wrong

Today is the day, that I admit that I was wrong. But what did I admit to being wrong about? Watch to find out.
